Refurbishment
A makeover for a barn conversion (Refurbishing a holiday home with a new interior fit-out)

Buckland, Devon

When this barn conversion in Buckland was purchased by new owners who wanted to use it as a summer bolthole, they came to us to manage a complete refresh of the interiors, retaining the traditional look and feel but bringing it up to date and in keeping with their own style.

Small and perfectly formed, the house had two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area, all in need of an update. We set about stripping out the existing kitchen and bathroom, before re-plumbing and rewiring the property to bring everything up to code, as well as adding a new boiler for energy efficiency.

We changed the layout of the kitchen and bathroom so that they were more contemporary, and then installed new fixtures and fittings in keeping with the owner's style. They wanted to retain a traditional aesthetic for a warm and welcoming finish, resulting in a space that's perfect for greeting them when they arrive on holiday.
