This classic holiday home in the heart of Salcombe had been a much-loved family property for many years. When the owners chose to retire and live there full-time, we oversaw a total refurbishment to make it the ideal home for this next phase of life.  

The three-storey property on Allenhayes Road has always been stylish, but with regular use it had become a little tired, and with its purpose shifting the owners wanted to completely refurbish the interiors. There was a sloped floor that they wanted to have levelled up; we also added every modern amenity such as underfloor heating on the basement and ground floor, new plumbing and wiring throughout, three new bathrooms, and a new kitchen.

The property had a lot of original period features such as ceiling roses and ornate cornicing, which we kept in place, painting and decorating in keeping with that heritage style. That included rebuilding the fireplace in the sitting room so the family can enjoy an open fire, as well as creating fitted joinery, custom-made alcove units, and bespoke wardrobes.

The works were all completed while the family remained at their current home closer to London. We were able to keep them informed throughout the project, through regular phone calls, videos and photos, and they were able to trust that the job was in safe hands.
